France 2030, giving France a head start
Accelerating the time-to-market for French innovations. This is the mission of the Health Innovation Agency (AIS), launched on October 31, 2022 at the France 2030 Health Ministerial Steering Committee.
In conjunction with the ministries and operators concerned, this agency will be responsible for implementing the France 2030 health component.
France 2030, giving France a head start
Specifically, it will:
- coordinate work on health forecasting to characterize the future needs of the health system ;
- anticipate their impact on the prevention and care system.
The missions of the AIS
Among AIS's missions:
- Monitoring the measures of the "Health France 2030" plan, via the implementation of indicators for monitoring France's competitiveness and attractiveness on the various dimensions.
- Leading work on health forecasting, in order to better characterize the future needs of the health system and to better anticipate the impact of innovations on the prevention and care system.
- The structuring of a process for identifying and supporting a limited number of projects selected according to strategic priorities to be defined, in order to enable them to accelerate the processes at each stage of development, depending on the project's level of maturity.
- The management of various priority projects requiring long-term coordination between public and private players (simplification and acceleration of inclusions, digitization and methodological innovations in clinical trials, etc.).
To manage these projects, Dr. Lise Alter, until now Director of Evaluation and Access to Innovation at the French National Authority for Health (HAS), has been appointed Director General of the AIS.
The Health Innovation Agency will be attached to the General Secretariat for Investment to start its mission. It will bring together a wide range of expertise and skills to ensure a rapid ramp-up.
